This year we have a bumper entry for the Big Day and four competitions running so we will have a tight schedule. Tables will be available for practice from about 8.40 and we want to start the Open Singles from 9.00 promptly with the first 8 games. We hope to get all the finals played by late afternoon if possible, if not some matches may need to be re-scheduled. We have to leave the Centre at 17.00.
Open Singles & Open Doubles: These will be the best of 5 games, with some seeding. For the Doubles players can select their partner. Players without a partner can pair up on the day.
Handicap Singles: These will follow the ELTTL H/C formula with best of 3 games first to 21 points. Latest Fred Holden Cup H/C halved and H/C match formula applied so that the weaker player gets a start.
Plate Singles: This is for losers in the First Round of the Open Singles. Best of 3 games normal 11-up format of 2 clear points.
Please bring yourself some food and drink to keep yourself going through the day. We have been told that the Play Centre snack bar will be open for drinks and light snacks. The Balcony Viewing area will be open for participants to use but please be aware not to leave anything valuable there as we are unclear as to how secure it will be.
Please don’t leave the Hyndburn site during the competitions. Due to the tight schedule if players are not available for their match we may have scratch you from that competition. Please be patient during the early rounds.
Mini score cards will be allocated for each match. Please return these after each result to the Organiser’s table
If you lose your match please umpire the next match on that table.
We hope that you enjoy the day
