Overall league Summary   In the Premier Division, Ramsbottom ‘A’ now head the table with a 14 point lead after a top of the table clash triumph over previously unbeaten Old Masters, who have now dropped to second place. Master’s Howard Whewell however is still personally undefeated and top of the individual merit table. Ramsbottom ‘A’ have two players in the top 5 merits as well in Liam Bedford & Martin Wyatt (3rd, 4th respectively). Ramsbottom ‘B’ are 3rd aided by Martin Holt (Merit 5th). K.Plumbing’s Keith Ward is worthy of a mention for his good form placing him 2nd in the merits. Propping up the table and still looking for their first win are Whalley Hawks, with Rovers second from bottom also struggling despite two wins.   In Division One The Lions are in first place ahead of KSB ‘A’ despite a close loss to KSB ‘A’ in their recent clash. KSB ‘A are undefeated and both these teams are looking certain of promotion already and boast 4 of the 5 top merit places (Lions Matt Harrison 1st, Martin Ormsby 3rd , KSB Daven Argile 2nd, Matt Hodginson 4th). Doals Marauders are 3rd with a great start of 5/6 wins but with KSB ‘A’, The Lions and Ramsbottom to face in the remaining fixtures of the first half of the season they are not likely to taste victory again in 2015! Ramsbottom ‘C’ will rise above their current position and likely to be 3rd or 4th by the half way stage, especially if Keith Haworth keeps playing (merit 5th). The relegation zone is currently occupied by Whalley Kestrels & Tackyfire.   Division Two has two undefeated teams, Ramsbottom ‘D’ who are top (Stephen Siddall merit 2nd, Harry Bell 3rd) and Best Centre Raptors in second place (Dylan Storey, merit 5th). These two meet in the next few weeks and will settle who will be the one unbeaten team by Christmas! Hyndburners are the other team likely to be in the mix for promotion once they catch up with fixtures. They have only lost once thus far to Ramsbottom but on a night when merit topper Fred Wade couldn’t play for the Hyndburners team. With Raptors also due to play Hyndburners in the next few weeks the promotion pairing favourites out of the 3 teams mentioned will be clearer by the next Press report. Craig Milnes is 4th in the merits from KSB ‘D’, who are currently performing better than their KSB counterparts  ‘B’ and ‘C’ who find themselves at the foot of the table.   Division Three is very open at the present time with no teams as yet dominating. Whalley Kites sit top (Anthony Richardson Merit 5th), with Slayers in second place but Best Centre Phantoms in 3rd place are the only undefeated team and could leapfrog to the top once games have been caught up with (Scot Fleming merit 1st). Hyndburn TTC ‘C’ could pose a bigger threat if youngster Joe Holt (merit 2nd) was joined more regularly in the team by other Hyndburn youngster Thomas Fewster. Other individual players  doing well are Whalley Merlin’s Jack Haworth and KSB ‘E’s Andy Wood.   For info in how to start playing TT or how to join a club contact league development office Harry on Tel 01254 663451   Burnley Focus Brierfield in the premier Division have played 6 with just two wins and are only just above the relegation places. But they have lost to the upper end teams and may hope to be faring better when all the first round of games are played. Peter Lee is going well on 78% from 3 games he has featured in.    In Division Two , Best Centre Raptors, spurred on by Dylan Storey (merits 5th), have impressed with 7 out of 7 wins. In the next few weeks they have key games against the two other strongest rivals for promotion which will really put their calibre to the test. Best Centre Jets are also much improved this year and sit in 5th place currently, their best player Ian Baskerville on 64%. Brierfield ‘B’ are looking to be close to a relegation scrap unless they improve and find their first win. Peter Marshland is their best performer on 57%   In Division Three Best Centre team, Phantoms , with Scot Fleming leading the way in the individual merits , are still unbeaten with 4 wins and a draw so far, and have the opportunity to go top when games are caught up with.  Best Centre is open to new players and beginners to join their club on a Monday night (Contact Darren for more info on 07736473609)   Ramsbottom & Rossendale Focus   In the Premier Division, Ramsbottom ‘A’  are comfortably top and I would be surprised if they don’t stay there all season now and clinch the title this year. They have a squad of good players with Liam Bedford and Martin Wyatt featuring 3rd and 4th in the merits. Ramsbottom ‘B’ are also flying high in 3rd place with Martin Holt  5th in the merits. Young Ramsbottom are 4th from the bottom of the table having played more games than their rivals but may do better now their squad has been strengthened by Many Winskill joining them.       In Division One Rawtenstall team KSB ‘A’ are unbeaten, and look very secure for promotion already and have two players, Daven Argile and Matt Hodginson 2nd and 4th in the individual player merits. Bacup (Weir) based Doals Marauders, have done better than any expectations with 5/6wins to the present time and are in 3rd place. Realistically they will be pleased if they can hold onto a top 5 place for Christmas. Ramsbottom have their ‘C’ team in Division One and with Keith Haworth (merits 5th), playing alongside promising young player Adam Kensit they can expect to be around 3rd or 4th at Christmas with easier games in their remaining fixtures than so far.   Unbeaten Ramsbottom ‘D’ in Division Two are looking a class better than the rest sitting with a good lead all ready at top of the pile, with Stephen Siddall 2nd and improving young player Harry Bell 3rd in the merits. Rolling Doals are 4th, with plucky Clive Shedlow their best player and likely to improve as the season progresses. Kay Sreet Baptists have 3 teams in Division Two but all at the wrong end of the table. The very able Craig Milnes is 4th in the merits but his team KSB ‘D’ are still only 4th from bottom. The C team and B team are stuck right at the bottom, which is a little surprising, considering they have the likes of Trevor Elkington, Dougie Argile and Carlton Cooper at their disposal.   In Division Three, Doals Vikings are going steady in a mid-table position, and Bob Thompson deserves praise after a fine performance as a reserve in division 2 the other week winning a game and only losing another 2:3.   Ramsbottom E are struggling a bit near bottom end of Division Three with just 1 win so far, their best player the cagey Bryan Edwards on 63%. KSB ‘E’ are also struggling 2nd from bottom, though Andy Wood is doing very well featuring 4th in the merits with 67%.   For info of how to start playing TT in Ramsbottom / Rossendale please contact Ramsbottom Bryan on 01617975082, Rawtenstall contact Trevor on 07981387755.
